Justin Hamilton has carved out an incredibly successful career as a stand-up comedian, writer, TV producer and podcaster while maintaining his unique voice within the Australian comedy scene.

Over the course of the last 29 years, Justin has won awards for his solo stand-up comedy shows including the Director’s Choice Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival for his show “Three Colours Hammo”. In 2011, The Arts Monthly announced that Justin was the Comedian of the Decade. In 2019 his one-person play won the Best Comedy Show award at the Adelaide Fringe for “The Ballad of John Tilt Animus”. In 2023 Justin returned to stand-up comedy with his new show, “Little Victories”, which garnered 5-star reviews and an Adelaide Fringe Weekly Award for Best Comedy Show. Justin also produced Melbourne’s cult live show The Shelf which he co-hosted with Adam Richard. The variety comedy shows included guests Hannah Gadsby, The Dollop co-hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds, Puddles Pity Party, James Acaster and Rose Matafeo.

Justin has also worked extensively in radio, most recently as a key writer for Rove’s 2DayFM breakfast show Rove & Sam. For ten years he was also the TV and movie reviewer for Perth’s number one rated breakfast radio show Botica’s Bunch on Mix FM, and was a regular guest on Merrick Watts’ Triple M Drive. His original podcast, “Can You Take This Photo Please?” ran from 2010 to 2017, hitting the top 20 downloads on Australian iTunes in its first year and has featured interviews with Simon Pegg, Marc Maron, Judith Lucy, Tony Martin and burgeoning talent Ronny Chieng, Celia Pacquola and Nick Cody. Justin now hosts the Big Squid Podcast which from 2019 has included guests like Moonage Daydream director Brett Morgen and New York Times’ best seller Chris Herring.

He is also the Talent Producer for The Chase Australia and ABC’s Question Everything. In the past Justin has been the head writer and regular guest on Whovians, an ABC panel show that dissected and discussed the latest episodes of Doctor Who and written two series of Dancing with The Stars for Channel 7.
