The nominees for the 2018 Screen Producers Australia Awards have been revealed, with Token Artists and Guesswork Television featuring heavily in the nominations.
Now in their 18th year, the awards celebrate Australian screen producers in the categories of film, television and interactive productions.
For the second year running Rosehaven, created by Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor and produced by Guesswork Television, has been nominated for Comedy Series Production of the Year. Also produced by Guesswork, Anne Edmonds‘ show The Edge of The Bush is nominated for Online Series Production of the Year.
Dave Hughes’ Hughesy We Have A Problem (Screentime) and Wil Anderson’s Gruen (CJZ) have been tapped on the shoulder for Light Entertainment Series Production of the Year; featuring the voices of Rove McManus and Cal Wilson, Kitty is Not A Cat (BES Animation) has been nominated for Animation Series Production of the Year; Mustangs FC (Matchbox Pictures), which stars Celia Pacquola, has been nominated for Children’s Series Production of the Year; and The Great Australian Bake Off (Fremantle Media), hosted by Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle, has been nominated for Reality Series Production of the Year.
Finally, joining Rosehaven in the Comedy Series Production of the Year is Squinters (Jungle Production), which includes cast member Sam Simmons.
The winners will be announced at the prestigious Screen Producers Australia Awards ceremony, which takes place at The Forum in Melbourne on Thursday 22 November. Congratulations to all of our nominated artists!
