Colin Lane is a legend of Australian comedy. A professional show-off for more than 30 years he continues to entertain audiences around the world with his charming, hilarious and thought-provoking comedic performances – on stage and screen.
Colin first discovered the magic and mischief to be had in making audiences laugh through theatre sports as an undergrad and went on to hone his comedic storytelling and acting as part of a trio called Found Objects and on ABC TV’s The Big Gig. Since then, Colin has performed in theatres, cabarets and festivals across numerous countries.
As one half of the the highly lauded and much-loved comedy duo Lano & Woodley, Colin has toured hundreds of sold-out live shows domestically and internationally, co-created and starred in TV shows like The Adventures of Lano & Woodley; released an ARIA-award winning album and a novel. They’ve also taken home some of the world’s most prestigious comedy Awards including the 1994 Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Colin recently performed the role of Black Stache in the smash hit Broadway production and 5-time Tony Award® winning Peter And The Starcatcher (Dead Puppet Society). And with screen credits on popular TV series like Kath & Kim, Fisk and Utopia, he has proven his immense range as an actor.
He has also appeared as himself on a plethora of other shows including as a panelist on Spicks & Specks; a guest True Story with Hamish & Andy and QI with Stephen Fry and with Sandi Toksvig in the UK; and as a celebrity judge on Thank God You’re Here!
Colin has also hosted numerous non-scripted TV shows including Ready, Steady Cook; The Circle; and Kings of Comedy, as well as the Afternoon show for ABC Melbourne radio. An accomplished and highly entertaining MC and celebrity speaker, Colin works with a range of brands, companies and community organisations.
When he’s not performing Colin can also be found on various radio and podcasts talking on creativity, comedy, the art of brewing the perfect pot of tea, and the pros and cons of belonging to a book club.
