Alex Ward is a comedian, writer, and presenter, best known for her whip-smart punchlines and regular appearances on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? More recently, she’s been sharing her culinary creations on her Instagram show Ready Steady Wardy, where you might have seen her pair watermelon with gummy bears—a recipe she described as turning out ‘fine’.
A Queensland expat with charm and a dry delivery (something she believes has to do with growing up through droughts) Alex skilfully navigates the line between humour and honesty; dipping into the darker corners of her life to blend personal stories with wickedly sharp observations. Always funny and very likable, Alex effortlessly keeps her audiences at ease, making her highs and lows feel universally relatable.
Alex currently appears on screen as a regular guest panellist for Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? and an occasional guest on The Project. She writes for TV shows The Project, Monday’s Experts, and Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee.
Alex has been a gigging as stand-up comedian since 2014 and has been a regular performer at all the major Comedy and Fringe Festivals. She is currently working on a new show – one Alex states is about “the big moments that changed her a little and the little moments that changed her a big”.
