Melbourne Theatre Company has revealed their inaugural season for the Company, marking a new artistic era for Victoria’s state theatre company. The 2023 season features two exciting works starring Token artists, Judith Lucy and Anne Edmonds.
Just when you thought she couldn’t hold another drop of talent in her body, Judith Lucy, is taking on the lead role in MTC’s Happy Days. Directed by Petra Kalive, Happy Days, is a classic 20th Century absurdist, tragicomic tour-de-force by Samuel Beckett – that just happens to be a pitch-perfect commentary on our times.
Australian comedy icon, Anne Edmonds, is making her stage debut in the musical comedy Bloom, written by Have You Been Paying Attention’s Tom Gleisner. It is an uplifting new musical that celebrates the power of music to connect us across generations. As Eddo says, it’s all about live theatre post pandemic, TV is so 2019…
Tickets for Happy Days go on sale to the general public on Thursday 1 December 2022 and Bloom is on sale on Thursday 30 March 2023. Don’t miss out!
