Dane Simpson is a brilliant storyteller, whose humour is full of honesty and heart. 

A proud Gamilaraay man based in Wagga Wagga, Dane made himself known on the comedy scene as a National Finalist for Deadly Funny in 2015. 

Since then, it has been a whirlwind of corporate gigs, tours, and festival runs – as both a solo artist and as part of Aborigi-LOL.  

Now a regular on our TV screens, he has most recently appeared on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Galas, Guy Montgomery’s Spelling Bee and That Blackfella Show. His stand-up comedy special Didgerydoozy was released by Paramount+ in 2022. 

Drawing inspiration from family life, Dane finds humour in everyday situations, often involving multiple generations. Whether it’s son Ari, wife Eleanor or dad Bow, Dane’s good-natured ribbing makes for wonderful, shared moments on stage. 

He is also an accomplished actor with roles in Cop This (2026), Residence (2024), The Emu War (2023), and more, and a highly sought-after MC and comedian on the corporate circuit. 

During lockdown, Dane created and hosted the cult-hit “Servo Bingo” – an interactive, online show revolving around the vehicles and characters turning up at the service station opposite Thirsty Crow brewery in Wagga. It was great. “Dog in a Ute!”
