A number of Token artists have featured in the nominations for the 2018 AACTA Awards.
The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards are a continuum of the AFI Awards, which have honoured screen excellence in Australia since 1958. The AACTA Awards recognise film, television and documentary screen craft excellence.
Hannah Gadsby’s all-conquering Netflix special Nanette has been nominated in the ‘Best Comedy Program’ category, as has Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor’s show Rosehaven (both Gadsby and Pacquola have also been nominated for ‘Best Performance in a Television Comedy’ for their respective shows).
In the ‘Best Entertainment Program’ category, Charlie Pickering’s The Weekly and Tom Gleeson’s Hard Quiz have both been tapped on the shoulder.
Mel Buttle has been nominated for ‘Subscription Television Award for Best Female Presenter’ for her role co-hosting The Great Australian Bake Off with Claire Hooper, which has also been nominated for ‘Best Lifestyle Program’.
The winners will be announced at the AACTA Awards taking place at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on Wednesday 5 December. Congratulations to all our nominated artists!
