The 2022 AACTA Awards kicked off on a sunny summers day in Sydney at the Hordern Pavillion. Among the many highlights of the ceremony was Tom Gleeson’s win in the Best Comedy Performer category for his role as host of ABC’s Hard Quiz. On stage Tom acknowledged and thanked fellow nominee Charlie Pickering as a key player in the creation of Hard Quiz which began as an offshoot of Pickering’s The Weekly.

Tom was chuffed to win. “You can’t rig this award, so I must deserve this!” he joked. “I think I might be genuinely humbled, thank you.”
