The nominees for the 2017 Helpmann Awards have been announced.
Now in its 17th year, the Helpmann Awards celebrate Australia’s live performance industry.
Having recently taken home the Barry Award for Best Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Hannah Gadsby has picked up a nomination for her self-described swansong Nanette. Joining Gadsby is last year’s Best Comedy Performer winner, Tom Ballard, for his show Problematic which took out the Best of the Fest (Local) award at the Sydney Comedy Festival.
Rounding out the nominations are Sammy J with his show Hero Complex, Aunty Donna for Big Boys, Joel Creasey for Poser and Nazeem Hussain for Public Frenemy.
Winners will be announced on Monday 24 July at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney.
